67 years old today, not sure what significance that has to Easter Monday but hey 
4 weeks ago today i gave up with the news. I dont watch it, listen to it or read it anymore. Its not easy as its every where but i dont have a news paper, i only watch streaming TV and if i listen to the Radio i just turn it of for 3 minutes at the top of the hour and of course...i live on my own now so i get to chose these things. So why ? you ask..
Well its partly political but we dont go into that here, its more that its constantly depressing . many more good things happen each day but the news traditionally focuses on the things that will wind you up, politically, socially and morally and i just reached the age where there is really nothing i can do about 99.9% of it so why worry about it. I think we all reach this stage at some point where we think, oh for gods sake just get over it
anyway i cant say i am missing it, its a bit like giving up smoking in that its a habit, for the first week i really wanted to switch the news channels on but i just kept telling myself, Why ? you know what its going to be about and there is nothing you can do about it so as Bobs signature says, why not just let it be
Yesterday it cost me £87.00 to fill the car up, thats €115.00 for a small Audi hatchback so i can pretty much guess the rest
. My food shop per week has doubled in the last 12 months but again who cares ? if you only have to look after your self. I would be just as happy foraging for berries as pushing a shopping cart round the markets ( he said tongue in cheek) at least till i ran out of Tea
