Just touting a little history from my hometown,

Today marks the 100th anniversary of the Halifax Explosion. This was the largest man-made explosion before the development of nuclear weapons and the blast killed approximately 2000 people and injured more than 9000.

Just remembering those who lost their lives and a thank you to the people of Boston who sent supplies and doctors to help the injured!

Fat Man, the bomb that was used on Nagasaki was 20k. This was a 2.9k explosion.

I remember learning all about that at the Maritime museum we visited when we were on our honeymoon in Nova Scotia back in 1998..very sad. RIP

Interesting, I had always thought the Texas City explosion in 1947 was the biggest non-nuclear explosion. This was quite a bit bigger and more damage. :hmmm

There, I learned something today too! I had never read about the Texas City explosion. Seems like they were pretty comparable in a lot of ways.
