Hi guys,checking in with the datestamp for this build with a great cause

Italeri 1/24 "Armed Pick-Up"

Not a challenging build, although with quite a few obvious details missing I may extend myself to a bit of scratch building

At this stage I'm leaning towards a South American drug cartel "private army" type scheme as in the movie "Romancing the Stone" or was it "Jewel of the Nile" - with Micheal Douglas. Anyone remember the movie?

I'll go for a similar scheme of a "rival cartel" as I don't have a Jeep - at this stage :hmmm ( I will let it evolve as I discover the options available
So far I can go with left or right hand drive (2x dashes supplied)
- and I may cut the doors out as they have no internal detail anyway
- definitley will build a roll bar/cage
- I do have a 1/24 Hemi 440 V8 in the spares box, but I doubt I'd meet the finish line (or finish at all) if I went down that road :)

The subject brings back fond memories, as I actually owned a real one of these in 1977. Same color as on the box top, too. Less the 50cal, of course.

Hey guys, had a wee dry fit session to see how it's going to sit and consider my options.

As you can see, there is very limited interior detail, so I'll have to get creative

I'm afraid the V8 is out of the question - I'm not saying it's impossible, but it would be a huge task.
-Cut the bonnet
-Cut the chassis out
-Build a firewall + associated brake booster, battery and other under bonnet detail
-Scratch a fuel tank
-And as I'd get along I'd find more no doubt

Scratching the interior will be enough for this cowboy :)

Great Truck. I was eyeing this up in My local HobbyTown .. Looks really cool with a load of possibilities ! I Dig th Drug Cartel ... leaves a lot open to interpretation ! Crazy Jungle Camo scheme !! Awesome Weathering potential !! Lookin forward to this !!

here's my version, but she dosen't go off road!! although that .50 cal would come in handy with all the Kamikaze drivers on the roads these days!!
