Can You See Me Now? - 49th TES B-52H

B-52H 61-0028 "Wolfpack" emerged from its overhaul sporting Day Glo Orange highlights before heading to Barksdale AFB. Once there it will receive the "U.S. AIR FORCE" marking on the nose and the "OT" code, 49th TES markings and AFFTC black chevron on the tail.

It received this scheme to commemorate the NB-52A 52-0003, one of 2 BUFFs that flew as motherships for the X-15 program.

If you ever wondered what a nearly naked BUFF looks like, this was on her test flight in August when the overhaul was completed but before she went to the paint shop. A hint of the new scheme can be seen with the day glo rudder.

As pretty as that scheme is, I prefer these... thing is, to find a suitable scale that markings are also available.

I had an original photo of, allegedly, the last D model being refueled over the Atlantic on it's way back from UK. A boomer gave it to me during one of those all night poker games. Think it was collateral or something. I can't find that photo album anymore. No idea where it went.

I like the Dayglo scheme. Racy!

Nice pics!! Amazing to see the amount of skin wrinkling. Wait!! Am I talking about me or the plane? Gary S.
