Ah yes, another one of Dr. Vogt's asymmetrical designs, but this one has me puzzled as a jet engine for all intents and purposes has to torque to counter act and I would think that having the thrust offset from the center line would create more problems that it would fix but who an I to postulate. Looking forward to your build, this is another one I'd love to see in 1/48

Haven't had a lot of time or energy to post this week but I have been working on this here and there.
I am trying to stuff as much weight in this as I can so it won't be a tail sitter. The kit comes with a little clear stand but i'd rather not use it unless I have to. I added a small lead fishing weight and some putty here

Overall Dave, I think it is a great little kit. It's well molded, lots of detail for a 1/72 kit, good parts count and the fit has been really great so far. The cockpit has more detail than what I've seen in other 1/72 kits, but I've built some crappy ones with only a floor and seat. There is nice detail on the wings and fuselage too. Tried to show some of that here!
The worst fit so far has been the port side of the front half of the fuselage. This had a big gap that I had to fill and took a bit of smoothing and sanding to fit properly
I was thinking the same thing as well Gary, I don't see how an asymmetrical design helps in terms of a jet. Makes perfect sense with a prop driven plane. Maybe that is what the two little pipes coming out the rear are for, to keep her straight!? Not sure. I just thought it was a cool little kit. It would be interesting to see this in 1/48

Nice start Warren. Detail looks a little soft on that cockpit? What is your take on the kit overall?

painted the camo last night.
first, painted the brown and added silly putty spots.
then green....
more silly putty
final body colour
and then removed all the masking to see the results...
If I were to do it again, I would add more spots, maybe make them a little smaller, but overall I'm happy!

I also thought that thing looked diseased with all those Silly Putty dots on it. LOL! The end results are phenomenal though; man that looks magnificent! Way to go Warren!

just tackled the decals last evening. there were a fair bit for such a small kit.
Dave, just to let you know, the decals in my kit were out of register, pretty bad in some sense. colour was fine. I ended up going with Socialist Republic markings for this reason. Also, the landing gear parts were fiddly.. didn't always fit the best!
Getting lots of modeling done! We need to promote modeling as the new social distancing hobby!!!

Finished the gloss coat, added the wheels and gear bay doors and other fiddly bits, light panel line treatment and weathering.
Here are the final pics,
I ended up having to use the clear stand provided, couldn't pack enough weight into it to avoid it being a tail sitter. Had fun with this little kit though!
