Bobcat Il-28 1:48

An aluminum tube with motors strapped to it...keep it simple Ivan!

Actually looks like a nice kit and a good one for a beginner... :hmmm

Bob, Bobcat started out as Xuntong Models and after their two releases of the Tu-2 torpedo bomber and level bomber the name changed to Bobcat, probably because folks in the rest of the world couldn't pronounce Xuntong :S

Preliminary designs for the IL-28 strongly reflected the influence of the German Ar 234 including having the pilot located in a bubble nose. They later decided to put the pilot under a fighter style canopy and put the bombardier in the nose.

It is cramped in that aircraft and hard to maneuver. Then again, I wasn't that thin. Herbert (Dewertus) has more photos of the exterior. I took these to detail out the Italeri (Bilek) and Trumpeter 72nd scale kits I had in the stash with the Part PE sets which were insane. While in Poland, I also bought a book with tech manual illustrations.

Thanks for the look in the box!

Regards,

Nice Saul, interesting that as unmaintained as the aircraft looks the nose wheel hub looks to be freshly painted.

The mind is the first thing to go, I think I got mine from Lucky Model.

Nice!

Didn't someone make a tiny kit of this years ago? Not the Italeri, but Revel? Monogram?

I see that something like 15 countries flew the Beagle... All kinds of possibilities!
