AtlantaCon 2025

Not this show, 3+ hour drive on the other side of atlanta makes the day long enough. Eric and I are planning on showing at the Mega show in Columbia next Oct.
That one is only an hour away so it won't be that late of a day getting back.

I LOVE a Model show!
I enjoy entering, buying raffle tickets, supporting the club. I get a kick pout of watching Teresa collect the raffle prizes.
I like to B/S with all the other geeks and nerds. Well, and and some of the other Cool Kids too. I prowl the vendors, but what I wish for is so esoteric, I am almost sure I won't find it. Still, the thrill of the hunt never wanes.

If we drive to the show, enter and enjoy the day and the car-ride, I still fell like a winner.
The little Antelope sloop cause quite a stir last year. Just wait until they see the 1/700 Niagara!

I have been called "overly altruistic". That could be true.

WHAAAaaat? All the cool stuff you guys build and you aren't going to enter? What a shame.
Performance anxiety?
Dontcha wanna take a chance of inspiring another modeler?
Support the sponsoring club?
WANNSINNIG!

Hmmmm….peer pressure. It’s more like I don’t have a my newer stuff finished. But then again I haven’t shown my older stuff at this show yet Either… let me think on it. BTW, are you making an in person appearance here??

@errains if you're taking something to show let's figure that out. I'll need to bring something as well. Can't be the Lee, I know that category would be full. Maybe take the race line up. I know the pickup truck couldn't take pin light scrutiny.

My wish is not to pressure. I encourage, exhort, entice, perhaps?
Your Britt Pick-up is an excellent entry choice, Bob! It tells such a good story!
Some guys don't like to be judged. Are we not unduly 'judging" ourselves by deciding what is contest worthy or not?
Ultimately, we are our own harshest judges.

Going to a show and watching from the "sidelines" is fine if that's your Thing. I encourage everyone to join in fun!
You never know who may be inspired by your builds.

I will enjoy entering the badly flawed Moonbat one day, just to watch the other guys go "He did WHAT?!" when they look it over.

We decided not to show anything this time. First, the only thing I got I think is show worthy is The Baron and I really don't want to pack it up for a 3 hour drive. I will take it to the Mega show in Oct.
There's lots for a modeler to do around Marietta GA, not the least which is the The General is on display.
I'm planning on some good fellowship with modelers and raid the vendors much to their delight. Get a good lunch and may roll up to Clarksville to the Art Full Barn to deliver Greg back to home base.

A three hour drive...
Then the weather started getting rough
and the big old truck was tossed.

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful trip
That started from this southern town
Aboard this big landship.

The driver was a mighty traveling man,
The shotgun asleep but alive.
Five passengers set off that day
For a three hour drive, a three hour drive.

The weather started getting rough,
The big old truck was tossed,
If not for the courage of the fearless crew
The Bobmobile would be lost, the Bobmobile would be lost.

They pulled aside at a taco stand,
Not the smartest thing to do...
after a beer and a stretch on a bumpy rough road,
They all had to poo, they all had to poo!

One couldn't wait for the next pit stop,
I won't tell you who,
but he mooned everyone on the coming lane
and the nickname only grew, the nickname only grew!

The others started laughing hard,
thinking their sides would split
The snorting, the barking and the crying they did,
They all had to :poop:, they all had to :poop:
