Andrea Miniatures is closing shop

I got some paints from them for face painting but not really into the figure painting. Sad to see them go.
Reading through the comments, I don't know if the pirating would have been that big of a hit on them. I wonder how many of those units would have been sold at retail. Some folks would have never bought the subject at full price. But that said, that's why I try to buy direct from the source in most cases.

3d Printing on the other hand, I know that would have taken a toll on them.

I know of a guy in the figure community that commissioned sculpts and sold resin type garage kit figures for many years. With the people he was paying to do the sculpts transitioning to digital sculpting, and having difficulties with people doing the molds and casting, he has switched completely over to having STL files for his products, and has bought 3 or 4 high end printers (elegoo 16k I believe) He now prints out the figures on demand. No more molds, no more casters. He generates his own figures to sell. He also DOES NOT sell his STL files. He is also having a digital sculptor re-do the old type sculpts into digital so he can offer the old popular figures again.
