Airfix 2014 Release Lineup

Airfix has posted their 2014 releases, New for 2014

The highlight for most will be the 1:24 Typhoon. There are also new toolings for a 1:48 Gnat & Spitfire Vb, 1:72 Tiger Moth, Swift, Blenheim, Do17Z, Lightning F.6, Tiger Force Lancaster, Hurricane Mk.I, Dakota, Jeep with Trailer & 6 Pdr & LCVP.

You forgot that the jeep and LCV will both be in 1/72 I hope that Airfix is thinking of changing all theyr future armors to 1/72

Some nice stuff coming out. To bad the Do 17 isn't in 1/48 scale. They would make a killing on that one. Of course is there even a good one in 1/72 until this one comes out?

Good point Nerdster! I have yet to see a Do17 that was worth a lick (except the CA one) since I got back into modeling. We have a plethora of Ju88, & He 111's but for some reason the Do17 has been generally overlooked by mainstream companies (unless you count the banana boat Do17 from Hobbycraft or whom ever it was...)

That's a good looking line up for 2014. I know some of you boys are wishing they would do more in 1/48 but I for one am glad they are sticking to their roots in 1/72!

As for the DO 17Z in 1/72 there is only the Matchbox/Revell kit with the usual barker lounger seats and a stick for an interior so looking forward to airfix's new offering. Airfix previously did the E/F version. Hasegawa and others for some reason skipped over this one probably because it is butt ugly.

Looking forward to that LCVP and the Tiger Force Lancaster will be interesting to see as my Uncle was going to be part of that group. :geek

Don't forget the time honored Monogram & Lindbergh DO-17Z. A guy can still get the Monogram. It's not too bad for it's age.
Airfix has done some nice work of late. You can't hardly give away an old Frog, or Fujimi ME 110 since the Airfix was released.
