Academy Magach 7C Gimel

So in my continuing quest of “All things Israeli” I started this 1/35 Academy Magach 7C Gimel. Lower hull is pretty much a repeat of the ancient M60. Unlike more expensive kits like Meng with their exact fit, many of the 7C parts, while really well molded, have a fit that is in-exact at best, so I had to supplement some styrene sheet as shown. Really coming along nice though. The Legend Resin basket requires a lot of time with your rotary tool, but wow does it ever look great! Just a few bits and bobs to go, and she’ll be ready for prime & paint!

Thanks! Plum Fer-Got to mention that I don’t have the side skirts complete. Still have a bit more to do, but vacationing all next week so nothing going on till I’m back!

So managed to get some paint on the Academy Magach 7C in 1/35. Primed in Black, then used the excellent paint from the Hataka IDF AFV set. Can’t say enough good things about this paint!!!

So for this I’m trying something very different, beyond the obvious touch up. Idea is to paint the Legend resin turret basket in an earlier/contrasting color and will then use washes and dry brushing to bring it closer to to the tank’s actual color. Will update when I get more done!

Here is where the Magach 7C sits. The M2 and the loaders FN MAG we’re in my parts bin from an older kit, as was the stretcher set on the rear of the turret basket. The basket is the resin one from Legend (not for this kit, I adapted it). The tow cable is picture hanging wire painted with Tamiya panel line accent

Needs to have that front hoop replaced and weathered. Also a few pics of some of my other work, let me know if you’d like pics of those & hope you like!

Academy 1/35 Magach 7C. OOB except for the loaders FN MAG & the M2 HB

All paint is Hataka Acrylic. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS PAINT!

Streaking is from AK Interactive Acrylic Pencils, and powders are ground Pastels. Gonna call it done…enjoy!
