A new Lewis Pruneau diorama

Lewis Pruneau popped over to my house last week with his latest diorama. He now builds almost exclusively for a wealthy collector in Argentina. I believe he told me he had sold this guy 32 dioramas over the last three years. He was anxious for me to see this one as It is along the lines of what I prefer to build, and it was his first attempt at a cityscape.

Well, I don't have to say how good it is, it speaks for itself! Lewis is just a natural born artist and can do anything beautifully! I had to take these photos off the back of his pickup, so they weren't taken in the best of conditions.

Lewis has been retired for some time now, and his retirement plus what he makes selling these is a very nice amount of money. He recently underwent treatment for bladder cancer and is finally through with the treatments. He looks healthy and trim and can pop these things out amazingly fast! I keep trying to get him into computers and on the web, but he won't budge!

Wow that's great work!!! He is a natural

I have the same trouble with George Redden. What are ya gonna do. :idonno

The KO'd Panther in the church reminded me a bit on Marijn Van Gils his 'Godverdomme!' dio:http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CCMQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.missing-lynx.com%2Fgallery%2Fdio%2Fgvd.htm&ei=kRZiUL2kJ4a90QXX0IHYAg&usg=AFQjCNEVNBk2XhfdBdyaRVG4yTje_i2miA&sig2=-W8TOyUtaTbk07W528PPBg

That's because the man who commissioned it had seen Marijn's dio as well and told Lewis to do something similar. Then when Lewis had almost finished it, he told him to expand it and add more buildings. You have a good eye Ron! I wondered if anybody would catch that!

Bob

Well, Lewis is also friends with Francois Verlinden in O'Fallon, about halfway between Lewis and my house. Lewis met him through me back in 1984. He takes them there and Verlinden crates them and ships them for him and then charges the guy in Argentina for the shipping. Of all 32 so far, only one has been destroyed. The guy sent that one back, Lewis rebuilt it and he paid him again.

I guess when you have money like that, who cares?

I have only sold one of mine and I regret it to this day, but I took the money and bought Susan a new Mercedes sedan, Believe me, Lewis does very well with his collectors.

Bob , I've always been a big fan of Lewis and your builds since way back in the SuperDiorama/Verlinden mag days .
His work still shines .....

Tell ya what , tell Lewis if he doesn't get a computer and join up here , you'll , ........ you'll , ......... punch him in the boob .

Ahh that explains why the buildings other than the church look like an afterthought
