I have to mention that the Wet Works decals used on this were bought almost exactly twenty years ago. They worked without a problem, proves that quality is quality no mater what age. Really enjoyed the build up until the usual problem with the rear suspension showed-up... one day I'll learn how to solve that one !!

Thanks for taking the time to look. As ever all comments, criticism, suggestions and questions are welcome.

Stay tuned, there's a 66 GTO very close behind !!

That looks cool. I'm kind of auto illiterate so what problems are there with the rear suspension? By the way, thats impressive, 20 year old decals.

The Skoal Bandit! I miss ol Handsome Harry, back in the days of NASCAR being NASCAR.

Nice looking car, good job. (y)

Great Job! The classic Nascar builds are some of my favorite, we need more guys like Harry Gant racing today.

Thanks James. The rear suspension on these older Monogram NASCAR kits is prone to collapsing - the locating pins just aren't engineered to take the stress of the weight of the body and the heavy rubber tyres. Hence when you VERY carefully click the wheel/tyre assembly into place, the axle almost invariably breaks free...

...happens so often I just don't get angry anymore !!

Very nice work! I've never built a car from that era. I've got some Darrell Waltrip Gatorade decals but havent ever built one. All the cars I've built have been mid-late 90's & newer.

Only a handful of cars from that era really interest me, but I definitely want to build them eventually.
