Fantastic subject.

I notice more and more now that many kits now are released with upgrade parts and upgrade sets like this one from Kotaire ? What does it say about a kit that come with a free , better moulded exhaust ? Why couldn't we just have a better moulded exhaust anyway, its not like this is a $50 Revell kit.
I get after market parts that are not included like maybe an engine or additional load out. I get upgrades for older kits that can be improved but launching a brand new kit where even the manufacturer thinks the parts in the box of a $100 + kit are not really up to the job ?
I simply wouldn't buy it.......Especially when you look at what Tamiya put in their 1/32 Spitfire box with full mega detailed engine etc for the same price.
Meng are another company doing this now with their motorcycles.

The brand new tool Revell Hurricane 1/32 is half the price of this and if you want to detail it up you can spend the money and still spend less than the basic Kotaire offering, if you dont want to detail it then build the Revell OTB and save $50.00.

Just thinking out loud 🤣

Regarding the AM exhaust, you can only go so far with plastic injection before the part is unmoldable. The AM exhausts are 3D printed and a much finer detail with thinner more realistic scale thickness. For the price? well I'll conjecture that the Kotaire kit is more researched and more finely crafted than the others. Add to that, Kotaire is a brand new Kit company basically starting up without the brand recognition or resources of companies such as Tamiya and Revel etc. To get the best kit Revel and even Tamiya require AM parts and so a person needs to spend extra. The Kotaire kits don't really require extra detail although I know I will be looking for a Quintos instrument panel because I find it hard to get the tiny little decals placed properly. It all boils down to what do you want in a model and how much can you afford. Each to their own.
