    Panzer I Ausf. A

My favorite airbrush was an old Thayer Chandler I got second hand. Those were the lacquer thinner days. The paint flowed so much better.

    Panzer I Ausf. A

I'm a little nervous about the camouflage in soft edge!

I actually think the British Tripe is cooler looking than the Hun's 🫢

    Yep, the Eddie Bauer upgrade.

Painting begins. First some pre shading followed by the base coat of Panzer Grey.

I like everything about working in this scale. They do take a lot of paint, though.

    Thanks Ian!

Das Werk 7.5cm Pak 40 in 1/16th scale

Yes, I'm getting familiar with that sort of thing with the Takom/Das Werk stuff. I messed up with the jack clamps on the Panzer I build because the instructions weren't clear. Oh well...it keeps things interesting!

    Possibly my new obsession...

With all the rain we've had here the grass better be green! I think we broke a record for rainfall in the month of May. We don't have nice grass in our yard. The 3 acres of mowed yard grass is just the plain pasture kind, it was a cow field before my wife had the house built.

    Possibly my new obsession...

I replaced the prestolite/Ferguson distributor with a new Ford 8n one. This tractor is mechanically simple, but finicky. I got lucky. When I hit the starter button the engine jumped to life. Boy, was I happy. I've ordered a new set of front tires. The ones on it are Firestones and are pretty...

Das Werk 7.5cm Pak 40 in 1/16th scale

Looking very nice so far. That's going to be an impressive display hooked to the 251.

Primed and ready for paint. The tools proved to be a project themselves.

I've got the 1/16 Das Werk Panzer III up next. A completely different animal.

Thanks for the pics! I decided to keep the blackout cover on the center one and leave the ditch lights uncovered.

I'm getting my wife a shirt that says "I ride a Red Belly" 😉

Had to tweak some parts to fit, but overall everything went together well.

    Possibly my new obsession...

I've replaced the spark plugs. Removed and cleaned the oil bath air cleaner (that's a fascinating piece of hardware) Fixed the stuck carburetor float, re-bent the gas line from the sediment bowl to the carb. These are gravity fed engines and somebody had an up hill bend in the line. The carb's...

    Panzer I Ausf. A

The basic build is done, minus tools and tow cable. I still have to build the Aber brass MG 13 machine guns. This model will be all about the paint. I'm going for a 10th Division Panzer in France, 1940.

    Possibly my new obsession...

The tractor likes the autolites. To me, it's insane how 3 cross referenced plugs that were so wrong were pushed on me. My god, one of those spark plugs had a 1/4" longer thread than what's supposed to be in it. I looked at the counter clerk and said "REALLY"!

    Possibly my new obsession...

I'm looking for stuff to lift 🙂
