Had to take a hiatus from building; I went to eastern Europe in support of NATO operations there. So I'll dust off the Gnat and git 'er done.

Here are a couple of snaps with my progress so far.

I slathered some Alclad Duraluminum over her last night after she got a rub down with some 3000-12000 grit sanding sponges. I covered my bug and left it overnight to allow the lacquer to fully cure. Once I get a couple of panels done up in a different NMF shade or two I'll post some pictures.

Here she is after sanding down the rough spots. It's primed again and sitting under cover until fully dry.

So I let it sit for four days then polished it and wiped it clean and promptly stripped a chunk of the primer off. :bangs head So I set it aside for the weekend and will mess with it again at the beginning of the week. I would use acrylics...but I hate them with every fiber of my soul...

Hey Ian, The picture's just blurry. I had to bend that bottom piece into shape, apply some gap filling CA and sand it smooth with a diesel powered belt sander.

Just got a couple of HB Thuds in the mail yesterday. I've been building 1/72 stuff for so long I can't remember the last time I did something in 1/48. I did a quick check of decal sheets and such I have for Thuds and I'm thinking I'll do a 'G' in 48.

I'm up for this one, I'm thinking F-105G or F-100D.
