Oooh, yes. You mean the outer visible edge, right? Yes. I'm on it. Ooooh, wait...metal? and a then kerf in the edging for lateral support? Same with the vent ribbing. This is why I love this place.

    1/16th scale sFH 18 Howitzer

It is astonishing, and light years beyond OTB. It is a thread that will be referenced by anyone building this or a similar kit. You have set the bar very high Paul.

Great plane and beautifully done. Like Pup said, it's really clean.

American Southwest, Circa 1876, Sioux Warriors vs US 7th Cavalry

The brushwork is so smooth! I love the obvious transissions of both light to dark and cool to warm, in all the right places. At first I felt the tones weren't warm enough, but after looking further it is SO beautifully rendered I took it back! I am not familiar with the tassles and have never...

Ok, so, I got distracted by the quarter panel vents. The ones included in the kit are not up to par LOL. So I attempted to make them! I will line the opening with 2mm x ... uh, .3mm I think. I have had some practice lining openings with the door frame but is still extremely challenging for me...

    Revell '65 Mustang Fastback

Well, after looking at my 1:1 I realized I had done the bed of the trunk wrong. I removed what I had done, and using a piece of corrugated plastic I glued in the top of the gas tank. It isn't exact, but looks cool. I then used 2mm x .5mm strip to add the edges. Then glued on .03hex rod cut into...

Hood: I think the hood on the fastback and my coupe would be the same so I will use it as reference. I really wanted the bottom layet to be .1mm thick but I didn't have it in white, only clear red. I experimented with the cement to see if it would work on the clear and it appeared to. I hope...

I think I have the door jamb finished except for smoothing out. I used 2mm wide strips in 1mm and .5mm thicknesses to simulate the different thicknesses in the jamb shapes. The trunk interior was challenging. I used .75mm styrene sheet to create the support plating, beveling the interior edge...

    Rivet for pivot

Well, .5mm dia shank was what I was thinking. That was the size styrene I had used. What I made functioned but wasn't stable side to side. I agree the washer and nut would look good.

    Rivet for pivot

a washerrrrrr...hmmm, yes, lordy, that would be tiny. Surely that is out there somewhere. Graphite could be the lubricant easy enough. I used it on my son's Pinewood Derby axles.

    Rivet for pivot

Hi guys, I have tried to make this. I have tried to find references here on how to do it. I have tried to find a solution or materials online. I have looked on youtube for instruction. My search skills are not great anyway, but I want to make working hood hinges for my car. I need a rivet or...

    Revell '65 Mustang Fastback

Back to the model. With this massive diversion from OTB I am solving problems as I find them. I noticed the trunk had no bottom. I cut a bar from 2mm strip to lay along the front of the gas tank, the used tape to make a pattern for the trunk floor. I glued the $#!t out of it with testiors cement.

    just got this....

Yeah, the canopy top got a "How'd he do that?" outta me LOL.

Well, as I stated, cement is a chemical reaction so, you can't stop it from weakening a prior bond. In these cases, I switch to a glue (CA, Gator's Grip, et cetera). If the glue completely covers the previous chemical bond and has cured, you can start again with cement. Sealing the cement...

The question was more about what to do about Tamiya Xtra thin letting go after drying more than 24 hours when I apply the next part. Super frustrating. I didn't apply CA from the bottle but one of those little suck it up straw thingy's. I couldn't find my cut off sewing needle eye so I need to...
