    Revell 1/144 HMCS Snowberry

It doesn't really affect me Paul if i am being selfish, I'm 67, i have somewhere to live and its paid for, i don't work now so i don't pay income tax but i do get £1k a month state pension. We were a country of 55 million when i was leaving school, we are now 70m and that's almost all due to...

In the scales you work in PE would be essential but this is 1/144....its huge :rotf As for the UK ? you like your food Chris, A decent sirloin is about $30.00 lb now a couple of small smoked mackerel that were £1.50 are now £5.50 in the space of less than a year. There is talk now of the UK...

    1/350 Pre Dreadnought Tsesarevich.

Its looking spectacular, just one question, is that really PE ? it looks round in section, especially the railings ? also interested to see at what point you get your paint brush out :-)

    Revell 1/144 HMCS Snowberry

Its ok , i don't know what came over me. I confronted my aftermarket cravings and i have banished them from my thoughts. Bottom line is the kit was £59,00 the PE was £150.00 you could easily spend that again on 3D and you are into MFH money with nothing like the quality... then plus postage...

I found a really good site in NZ called micro master models that specializes in 3D print parts for ships however the poor chasp is a sole trader and is suffering long term health issues so not taking orders.....blast...been closed since June . I have loads of sympathy as i was a sole trade with...

    Youtube rabbit holes

An interesting 10 mins but it begs the question, if a guy can do that with his PC why do companies like Revell produce basic instructions with uncorrected mistakes for 50 years :rotf

    Revell 1/144 HMCS Snowberry

Its a bit of a "learning on the job" for me because i have only ever used an airbrush as a cheaper option for a rattle can so a lot to learn about fine work.

Well the PE got from Korea , 6500 miles to the UK in less than 36 hours , its currently 20 miles up the road at the airport and its been there 5 days.... I despair at the way the UK is spiralling down. Nothing seems to work anymore. We are officially a broken country. Meanwhile i have been...

Maiden Flight Of The RCAF's First CF-35A

When you think this is 20 years old already it makes you feel old :-) I remember when i first saw a Typhoon (eurofighter) , that was nearly 20 years ago and it feels like yesterday and i still think of it as new ......

    Revell 1/144 HMCS Snowberry

Actually the whole kit is under £50 so when you look at it like that you are quite right , give your best shot and if it fails its hardly the end of the world :rotf

    Revell 1/144 HMCS Snowberry

I think i might have opened a can or worms Steve , i cant believe how much detail i need to shave off the kit parts to replace it with PE. The instructions are very vague for example the PE sheets have new porthole surrounds but there is absolutely no mention of these in the instructions which...

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

A couple of PE tools i think i might need arrived from Amazon. Its a shame amazon tend to beat most model shops on price however i think some of their items are supplied by model shops just via amazon... As someone who used to run my business in competition with amazon i have huge...

When you zoom in these could be drilled not proud except they are to even on depth, i think they are also too random to be a decal sheet ?

    Revell 1/144 HMCS Snowberry

I think there are lots of issues, its just that i tend to point them out more than others, i think its part of the point in these build blogs other wise they just become "look at me , aren't i clever" blogs. I always read blogs on a build before i start just to get the info. Most people dont...
