So... thinking about rigging again. this picture shows a gaspatch turnbuckle. Some 0.18mm line and a bit of 0.6mm tube, 0.4mm bore to take 2 bits of 0.2mm line. The gaspatch links could take up too 0.4mm line so twice as thick as the line shown however that would need 0.9mm tube to get 2...

Next up from Border Models 1/35 aircraft: SBD-3/4 Dauntless Pre-Painted

One question......Why ? If you cant paint models you certainly aren't going to learn buying this. I wonder if i could buy a biplane kit with the rigging already done 🤣

Not sure of the order of construction here so i am copying Bob :) You obviously cant paint wings once fitted on a biplane, you cant add detail like forward firing guns after rigging.... There are quite a few decals on the fuselage which wouldn't be easy after rigging so i am tempted to finish...

Don't mention people who draw in every panel line with a pencil :-) though thankfully thats a fad that seems to be dying out now .

We have seen this before where one guy does something artistic like wood grain and then everyone does it and its regarded as quite normal and historically correct.

I just looked through my pictures of Shuttleworth and Hendon and probably one 1 in 5 is actually wood finish and they are all straight grained and definitely not laminates of different woods. Most are just painted grey. I have done my DH9 with straight wood grain but it should be painted green ;-)

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

The only problem i have come across with UV glue is you need to be able to get the UV light at the glue. so for example its not going to work sticking to tight bits of plastic like fuselage halves as you cant see the glue but its a minor miracle on transparent canopies as its crystal clear ...

That was my example wasnt it ? I have just been using it as a filler, i had a gap on the DH9 fuselage, just filled it with uv glue and cured it. Advantage seems to be it doesnt contract

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

To my surprise Olive drab and khaki drab are pretty close. I think of Khaki as much more yellow. When i was a kid the War surplus shops were absolutely stacked with Khaki ruck sacks webbing belts, gas mask bag desert shorts etc. right up till the mid 1980's my step dad went off to work everyday...

Would you believe the idiots in the green camp here want to ban air conditioning as its not green because its uses power.

Ok listen up, pay attention the back. Your scribe has an admission to make. He glued on 2 major parts back to front and hence his ongoing battle with this kit. The 2 side frames for the fuselage are in 2 pieces, each has a large hole and a small which appeared to be reversed so the right front...

I am curious about this PC10 colour after reading this....My idea is to go with olive drab because i have that on the shelf...but.... "Of note if anyone needs it MRP's PC-10 Late is virtually the same color as Tamiya XF-51 Khaki Drab. The Tamiya is flat while MRP is satin/semi gloss but the...

The kits are very nice, just not as nice as i remember but maybe everything else has caught up over the last 15 years . I will sort it, i actually have more interest in the build now its gone wrong :-) Putting it right is more fun than the original build 🤣 .
