I was happy to see the tensioners on the this kit are somewhat adjustable.

While bogged down building tracks ( I thought the P III's were bad) I'm looking for a Tiger to represent. Not giving up on one from the 502 heavy battalion I've come across this one numbered 02.

Somebody mentioned nylon bushings on another site for the Andy's Tiger kit. That's a brilliant and simple solution.

May need more than one for that job!

Something that was bothering me with this kit is there's no way for the road wheels, idlers or the sprockets to stay on the hull without permanently attaching them. Now I understand why I would see some wip pics of the kit with all of that painted and on before anything else was built. I didn't...

Building the tracks. I was moving right along until I noticed the ejection pin marks. Oh well, all I have is time 🫡

Here I go down the rabbit hole lalala...read some crews removed the outer front road wheel because it caused problems in mud. The Tiger 1 website says this kit can't be made to show this. What can be missing? I think to myself.

Each road wheel is made up of 2 halves, that means a seam that needs sanded. Since there's 48 of them, to speed up the process and save sanding sticks I'm chucking them in the lathe and using sheet sandpaper. I can do all but 8 of them this way. I like to leave a bit of sprue nub because its...

I hear ya. When I decided to make the switch from 1/35 to 1/16 scale for armor builds I put up a 10' x12" shelf across the wall of the workroom. The Tiger is pushing the 12" depth.

The hull is a couple of inches longer at 15 and about an inch wider. Pic of the Tiger and P III turret.

The start. So far everything is fitting together very well. On this kit the idler can be adjusted for track slack. Maybe not as big of an issue on the Tiger model, but it would've been a nice feature to have on the Panzer III kit. I modified the sprocket & idlers so I can take them on and off as...

Thanks so much for all this info Ian! Looking over the kit parts. There are three different versions of the mantlet, two different versions of the engine deck and two different versions of the drivers vertical hull plate. I'm assessing the situation...haha.

That's where I'm looking. He compares this kit's details with the decal numbers offered of that real real tank.

Well...nuts. Thanks for the heads up. Just thought the overpainted tactical numbers was interesting, as well as the 502's mammoth insignia.
