    Possibly my new obsession...

I've been wanting to reclaim this area on our property back from nature for a couple of years. I decided to go for it before spring got here. It all looked like it does to the right of the tractor. It was a fight for sure. The only casualty was a Bent up stablelizer bar. The mighty 8n did the...

What started you model building/painting and how old were you?

I built a few of the old Guillows stick & tissue free flight kits back in the day. I have several vintage RC plane kits, still in the box's, a friend gave me several years ago. One is a 4 channel 1/4 scale model of Steve Whittman's F1 midget racer "Buster". I keep threatening to build it. Not...

Das Werk SdKfz 251/1 Ausf D in 1/16th scale

Gees, and I just cut my idler shafts off and moved them back about 2mm. I'm a slacker!

What started you model building/painting and how old were you?

My Dad was a model builder/artist. I remember watching him work on the Revell big USS Constitution when I was a kid. I'd ride my bike uptown to the five & dime store and buy models from their small selection. Mostly cars and the Aurora Monsters. Didn't really do much modeling through college...

Panzer III Ausf J. Das Werks, 1/16 scale.

Spent the afternoon outside in the garage, in the nasty wet 30 degree weather, building the wood framed foam base. I'm thinking the Panzer is sitting perpendicular across a cobblestone road.

Yeah, it'll take up some display space.

I think I have the figure fixed up now. Moving on to the base. It needs a minimum of 11x17 inches with the tank sitting at a slight angle.

Looks excellent Paul! I did basically the same thing getting the right track tension.

Thats a good idea. Didn't think to look for that. It would be much better than what I painted on it. Maybe find the SS collar tabs as well. I think I need to paint out the Wehrmacht eagle on his right breast as well?

Added the eagle on the sleeve I had to just paint it on. Also looked at a different 5th SS wrap and copied it the best I could. It had white and pink piping on the shoulders. I'm not a figure painter 😔
