All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

All Righty ... What are you doing today ? Happy Birthday, Chuk :drinks . Wish I could make it to your joyous chili party; sadly, I have to take the ex-wife ice-fishing. I think you'll be having a better day than me.

    1/72 Airfix Bf109E-4

This model is at roughly the same status as my build in the P-40 campaign; they are being built side by side. Posting does seem rather repetitive with similar photos. Anyway, this will be mudded, sanded, etc, until it can be primed; and that will be the next post. I like the new Airfix kits...

    1/72 Airfix P-40, 403 Sqn., RCAF

I still have to clean up all the seams, not everything fit perfect. It is starting to look like a P-40, though. These Airfix new-tools are light years better than the old Airfix. Still, they do not equal the Tamigawa standards. They are fun to build. I'll mud it, sand it, rescribe where...

Completed 1/48 Hasegawa F-14A TARPS Tomcat

I think the F-14 looks grand, and I hope your father is around to see the wonderful gift he gave you completed. It didn't take you all that long; I've got a Hasegawa 1/48 Stuka still in the works from 1993. That was three wives ago.

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Latest Acquisitions 50% of my stash came from Sprue Brothers. Not anymore, with the high shipping. Now I fair better in Europe and Asia. Still like the LHS better, but, they are now 1/2 days ride away. :(

    Bf109E-4/7 TROP - complete

Bf109E-4/7 TROP I really do like the scheme you chose, Bill. It's very well done. Out of all the Tamiya 48th single engine fighter kits, this is the only one I have never owned. Yours is candy to look at. :thumbsup

    MESSERSCHMITT Bf 109E-3 "PIPS"

    1/72 Airfix P-40, 403 Sqn., RCAF

Thanks, Bob. I was talking about Humbrol 53 metallic.

    1/72 Airfix Bf109E-4

It's not my style to lock-in a propeller with a glued plastic disk on the end of the shaft, as Airfix would have you do here. I prefer a removable prop so I can work on it off the fuselage. So I epoxied in a brass sleeve that will accept a brass pin attached to the back of the finished spinner...

    1/72 Airfix P-40, 403 Sqn., RCAF

Thanks for the atta-boy's  . It ain't over until the fat lady sings, though. Here's a small update as to where the model sits today: There are no molded in harness for the seat, and no harness decal. So I just fashioned a quick setup using mask tape. I also just used the IP decal...

    Fokker Eindecker

I had to go back and read the thread for the first time. Well done, indeed. The final display is very impressive :thumbsup
