    Crown Achievement in 1/144

Done as much as its going to get done. I consider this a bottom shelf model that will soon be turned over to my grandson to enjoy. If he's anything like me, he'll be drilling a hole in the wing, and tying on a string so it will fly circles.

    Crown Achievement in 1/144

This Crown kit only supplied 4 crappy national insignia for decals; no where near what was promised on the box-top. So an American modelling friend was very kind to send me Cartograph decals from his Platz kit, along with a 4-blade prop. All he asked is that I do the best I could on the kit...

    Crown Achievement in 1/144

Thanks fellas. I actually thought I'd get more paint peeling and problems when I removed the mask than I did. Frankly, I'm quite happy with the way the invasion stripes turned out: Going to wait a day, then wipe her down and touch it up. :bgrin

    Crown Achievement in 1/144

Remember that big, ugly dip damage that was so obvious on the bottom of this tiny model. I fixed it up, somewhat acceptably: Primed: Thought I'd try the pen trick shown to me by another modeller. It's mostly an experiment: A little bit of yellow; a little bit of Alclad airframe...

Everyone staying warm in this bad cold?

I feel sorry for you poor fellers, either freezing with your hair blown straight back or frying beside half naked beauties. It's rather toasty here, in +4C (39F American), no wind. So much for ice-fishing until the slush freezes. I may as well just model on. :bgrin :thumbsup

    Spitfire Vb 1:12 Scale

Well, it's just my opinion, that this is a wannabe R/C that builds into a just-about Spitfire too big for static home display. Each to his own, though. I'm sure there are those who would enjoy crafting something like this; although, they are richer than me. :bgrin

    Spitfire Vb 1:12 Scale

Unless I'm experiencing a false bout of deja vu', this kit was brought up in discussion somewhere 3-4 years ago. I never actually heard about anyone actually putting out for it, but, I do recall it wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

All Righty ... What are you doing today ? Whoa!! :frantic , I sure hope you had fire and theft on the car, Barney. Speaking about cars; I took my daughter into the city today, to pick up her new used Pontiac. It really surprises me how much rust she could buy for a sixteen-hundred dollar bill...

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Latest Acquisitions Yep, I was shooting for a Canadian 3N. First I have to consider how to approach scratching-up the astrodome. I like this ICM C-45 kit :thumbsup .It is overpriced in my opinion, and I'm thinking it will be sold for cheaper in the future, just like the P-51 and Spitfire series.

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Latest Acquisitions Nice guns, James :thumbsup This C-45 is not quite what I expected it to be in modern times. This kit has been over simplified, and I've already ordered Vector P&W 985's to replace the soft detailed kit parts. No cooling vanes on the cylinders :hmmm

1930 Chris Craft runabout 1/8 scale

The nice thing about wood is that you can make it dance :dance , if you are skilled. I'm looking forward to your updates :popcorn . Chris Craft were beautiful boats. :thumbsup

All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

All Righty ... What are you doing today ? With the storm that's passing through, I'm wishing I could teach my dog to shovel snow :gogo . As it is, I'll have to do it. Usually, I'm to tired and sore to do any modelling after. :oldguy
