The islands are not quite big enough for a decent base. I considered making the beach front docks at Mios Woendi, but PT boat sales don't justify it.

On the list of things to finish, is the Kit 519 base. Islands, Boats and Tiki Hut. The dock on Hideaway Key was vexing me, so I finally got round to knocking it out. Flip the dock over and paint silver, then black on the undersides and a coat of Tamiya Clear blue to give some water effect...

38 of 40 55 gallon drums loaded on the narco boat. You can tell a Navy Chief Bos'n didn't load her. He would have gotten all 40 barrels aboard. God alone knows how many kilo packages are under the tarp. She's ready for sea, awaiting a bold crew.

With assembly and paint all done, box artwork is in the offing. 14 boats populate this set, before I double up the Caravelle 232 Interceptors and Larson 16-footers. I thought about a sunshade for the 25' Highfield RHI center console inboard tender, but enough is enough. :doh:

Are you going with the wooden 2-bladed fan or the constant speed 3-bladed affair? This kit is all the rage among Just For Fun modelers on X. The detail and fit is reputed to be amazing.

Indeed. Your countrymen on X have been lobbying Airfix for a new-tool in 1/48. They are most unsatisfied with the original issue. Your 1/48 Lightning looks like all your builds do. Precise, well constructed and finished with care and expertise.

My what a big Discovery you have! :good: We had coverage and basic structural repairs were complete by fall, 2024. Cosmetic repairs (Drywall finishing is lost on me.) continue. These had all been to shows and were awarded builds. No really good reason to make repairs, unless I wanted to fly...

The display shelves for my awarded builds were wrecked when the tornado hit our house in 2024. A great many of the models on those shelves came to grief when the roof fell in and we took water. Sorry mate. Naught to show.

There's a kid in our club from Mexico. He served in the USMC after earning his citizenship. Respect all the way around. Most of his models are built in Mexican AF markings. I have grown weary of such things, I suppose. I certainly get why your interest is piqued in this decal set...
