    Kotare Spitfire

Thanks bob. I tend to be surprised how soon after the death of the generation that knew for sure the facts on things like colour and detail are questioned by people that were not there or even born. New generations are now presented with colourized pictures' and digital screens that show...

The only thing i agree with is the seat was resin bonded paper not Bakelite :-) As for the rest i am keeping out as its the reason i got banned before on Several sites :-) its one of those occasions where no one will ever prove you wrong if you went black or green but people would always...

    Airfix 2026 Range Launch

It just shows how different people see things differently :) I thought the 1/48 Airfix Lightning was a superb kit and did a review of it about 20 years ago https://modelingmadness.com/review/viet/gb/barratlite.htm

so this where i am now . So far its all gone well with no problems. The difference between this build and my last of this model where i used the screws to fix it together is chalk and cheese. Moral, dont use the provided plastic expanding self tap screws :)

You are right Bob but these were cheap so i am going to leave the order open and when the wheels eventually turn up i will put them into stock as they will be useful for other builds. Meanwhile if i need wheels before they arrive i will go with the kit ones on this build.

I ordered a set of 3D Print wheels for a 1/12 Airfix Bentley back in the middle of December but unfortunately the supplier is messing me about with messages like "ready for despatch", then "despatched by UPS" delivery expected 11th..which was a Sunday and i know UPS dont work Sunday. I contacted...

Well this will be interesting, basically a pre war Spit or baby Spit as they are sometimes called.. I always thought Tamiya missed a trick by not making their super spit an early Mk I ,II or V

On a lighter or brighter note the Innocraftsman micro drill is excellent, especially if you want to drill a 1mm hole up a 2mm screw...and lets face it, who doesnt want to do that :-)

TOOL TIME - Comparison Badger and Harder & Steenbeck airbrushes

I have to say i have a badger Krome Renegade which i really like but the caveat would be i only use MRP and Alclad for 99% of my work and both are very thin and pre thinned and dont have a tendency to dry on the tip. I doubt it would be much use for something like Tamiya thinned with rubbing...

Well i fired up the micro lathe and no joy. TBH its pretty useless for what i need. no adjustment to centre the tail stock to the chuck except via the gibs but you need to use the gibs to lock the tail stock so even if you set it up it wont stay there if you keep tightening and slackening the...
