    Tamiya Spitfire Mk IX (1/32)

As far as weathering, just take it slow, one layer at a time. you have in your mind's eye what you want, a sand blasted desert warrior right? Start by sand blasting some planels down to the bare metal, then feather some primer and top coat. Then start applying washes...but we'll get there.

    Kotare Spitfire

I don't know if it's the humidity (lack of) or cold temps but i can't get any paint spraying right the last couple of days. But that doesn't stop me from squirting it out anyway. I didn't do any post shading because I really just didn't put much thought into what I was doing. Let's see what...

Can't see his face to put a name to him so we'll call him Klaus. Think he'll need more mud on his boots?

I like the AlcladII clears myself. Using dissimilar mediums between layers does the job of sealing pretty well.

    Back again for good

Wow Mikkel I see your first instruction was May 26, 2012, as someone who was in the USAF in 1982 2012 doesn't seem to far ago but it is. Welcome back and thank you for your service! That's a nice place you got there. What are you growing?

    Kotare Spitfire

Thanks for the input guys, the Xylene stinks but it sure sprayed humbrol better. Stinks so much that I doubt I'll be spraying humbrol much. I think my sotar needle is bent, will run it over the wetstone this evening. And oh, that armless regulator I was showing on another thread? Something...

    Back in the hobby

Didn't Mig just start using the Alclad 2 name without the real Alclad 2 folks approval? I got some of that brass Paddy but doubt I could get it to you. Someone has jacked up their website something bad with Capta.

    Back in the hobby

Welcome aboard Chewie. Yeah, the hobby world has changed greatly. No more the day of cruising the shelves to find that one thing you may or may not be looking for. How many kits did I build back in the day not even knowing what the subject really was other than a tank or an aircraft. But it's...
