All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

All Righty ... What are you doing today ? You know thats really the hell about finding work - seems it's easier to stay home than to take some of whats offered now. I started my new job in Sept '12, and it's kept me so busy that the only thing model wise i have had time for was to buy stuff...

All Righty ... What are you doing today ? Realizing that Windows support of XP ends next month! I have to build another to upgrade as I'm running a P4 478 pin Prescott on an MSI board with 2 gig Corsair 3200 ram, and that tops this machine off! - I built this years ago for Doom 3 and...

    Hairspray question.

Thanks for posting this Mike- ok dumb question of the day, we have all seen and heard of the use of hairspray as a weathering tool, but just what does the hair spray do? Does it form a layer that allows you to brush off the whitewash. Or is it something else? Please forgive my ignorance. CR

    Northeast snow

Something is still falling in Columbia SC, so fine I can't tell if it was ice or what. Wind chill is around 27, and what was slushy yesterday is now a crunchy layer of ice. The rest is of course frozen solid- for us down here this is devastating. I didn't loose power last night, but some friends...

Stay safe in the Southern States

End of the day. Took a ride around the area and took a friend, we rode about 7 miles around the interior of town. I had to slliddeee out to get traction in the parking lot, but the roads were worse. Rosewood -main road by me- was two sets of ruts and 4 inch walls. Most traffic was paying...

Stay safe in the Southern States

Been up for an hour and it's sleeting in Columbia SC- parking lot is a layer of thin hard ice. This old man with 20 years exp in commercial plumbing almost busted his butt walking out into the parking lot with a new pair of boots! And i thought i was used to such things- we are on the very edge...

Stay safe in the Southern States

Today i drove from Columbia Sc to Chapin (27 miles) Then left Chapin and drove to Greenwood, another 60 or so and back. The main accumulation that I saw was in Newberry. They had a nice covering and heavy snow greeted me for my entire drive to Greenwood. When I got back to Chapin it was still...

    Lighting the bench-

Thanks fellas- i was looking at LED 'Real' lighting until I found one of those at a store that was strobing. What I'm really looking for though is a desk mounted setup with low heat, I hate the standard desk lamp and funny thing about me and the circular florescent mag lights is I seem to be...

    Lighting the bench-

Like most here my eyes are not what they used to be, at my bench I have now 2 florescent 20 watt bulbs that are shaded, and a nice incandescent set hanging over head. Been looking at LED's and all the other stuff thats local. Not much of that- so I'm curious- What are you folks using? I'm...
