    Next teleconferance?

I have a Craftsman drill from the 80's that I still have and it works. I wanted a newer drill with the adjustable clutch on it for running screws and such in on projects I had going. Did NOT want a battery drill for the same reasons you stated Paddy. I found a Ryobi with power cord and the...

I would be up for it, but it is a little short notice.

Das Werk SdKfz 251/1 Ausf D in 1/16th scale

OK, wasn't familiar with the name. Would also love a SdKfz 222 Armored car in 1/16th.

Not sure which one that is Ian.

You can use a separate mic if you have the connect for it. The key is the head phones. The Sony set I have work great and I got an extension cord for them that gives me more reach (6ft) if I need to move around the room. I have several sets and use those phones all the time with my phone...

    PART 5C U-516 9C 1945 - 1/72 SCALE (Revell 05113)

Very interesting Ian! I kind of love doing research. Sometimes it makes you wish you could make a camera poke a hole back through time to take photos of things.

    53 Ford F-100

Hey John, guess what? The '53 Ford F100 kit you have is the kit I had as a kid. The clincher is the acetylene welding bottles. Guess I am going to have to get one of my own. Been wondering what kit it was for years.

    53 Ford F-100

You really had to go all out to build a model of your old truck eh John? Looks like it is coming together. When I was 8 or 9 (maybe 10?) I got an AMT pickup kit. It was an old truck kind of like this and had a metal clip that acted like a hinge for the hood. I also remember it had some extra...

    German Tank Tracks

I always do the bare steel surfaces on the track links where there would be wear from the road wheels and other parts doing constant wear. Then the rest is just dirt, mud, and dust on them with paint that hasn't worn off. You never see that much rust on the old WWII vehicles anyway. There was...

Good to see you John! Nice looking figures!

    End of the line.

No "War Dept" here to screw up my weird filing systems. Years ago my first wife went into my hobby room and "borrowed" a tool. Didn't put it back. Later I needed it and of course it WASN'T where I had left it. Don't ask me how I did it, but I got up walked out into the kitchen, walked over to...

    Next teleconferance?

I get it Paddy, when I do the Zoom call with these guys I get out my Sony ear buds with mic (that I use with my phone) and have no problem understanding them. If I didn't, I wouldn't be able to understand them either and the speakers would cause feedback through any mic I used. Still, you...

Das Werk SdKfz 251/1 Ausf D in 1/16th scale

Yes Saúl, I have the 250 kit and I believe it has the fully detailed chassis just like the 251 kits. It wouldn't take much for them to do an 11 or 10 with the chassis they have designed. Would buy them in a New York minute. The Pak 40 would go along with a Sdkfz 11 much better than with the...

Das Werk SdKfz 251/1 Ausf D in 1/16th scale

Many thanks Ian! I believe it was the same chassis, though there might have been some differences. This chassis part of the kit is seriously detailed. I did a minor mod to the lever shock absorbers to make them work as the track system actually is workable. The front shocks where they attach...

The Duke's Spaceport Launches the Falcon!

Those Tie fighters were painted back in March of 2017 and I know they are still good as I took them to Chattanooga in June which is 8 years. I know that rubber and vinyl will attack styrene over time. Not going to worry about it.

    Larrys Dragon

Looking pretty good! It's not how old the paint is, it is the condition. I have a LOT of paint that goes back to the '80s that is still good for whatever I want to do. Occasionally a bottle turns to goo and gets sent to file 13.

Das Werk SdKfz 251/1 Ausf D in 1/16th scale

Just a quick update as I have been spraying paint. Yeah, just can't trust coloring on vehicles that have been restored, though if you can get photos like this during the process, you can have a decent reference. There was a close up photo that showed a section that had rust, red primer...

    End of the line.

I knew I had seen and done some 1/32 scale braces on radiators. They were on the E-3 I have that is about 70% done. They are really thin and narrow.
