The problem isn't the size I believe, it is the material that it is made out of. Soft lead based castings are not the same strength as brass, bronze, or steel.

Sounds like you need to source some "SOFT" foam rubber that it can lay on.

Now we have 3 folks doing 1/16th scale. Takom, Andy, and Das Werk are doing some really good stuff that is still somewhat reasonably priced for what you get.
