Memphis Belle unveiling May 17-19 2018

That is very cool, I didn't realize he was from Asheville. Next time we're up there, I'll have to go find that monument.

Memphis Belle unveiling May 17-19 2018

I was wondering if anyone else is planning on going to Dayton, OH in May to see the Memphis Belle unveiling? I've been looking and planning for a few months to go, and now it looks very likely that I'll be able to make it. The Belle will be unveiled on the 17th, which will be the 75th...

All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

For the first time in quite awhile, spending some pretty decent time sitting at my bench. Decided to pull out some kits & decals I got early last year. Building all 5 of the car from Days of Thunder.

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Latest Acquisitions Not doing any building, taking everything down in prep for moving later this summer so all the model stuff is packed away already, but that doesn't stop the buying! Here's my haul from the last several weeks. 2 Tomcats, SH-3 & bomb set I got at the IPMS Region 12 Regional...

    Cobra Company Detail Sets Returning

Wow, I had no idea that CC had closed or anything like that. They had several sets I was interested in, so I guess I'll need to keep an eye on Lonestar.

    Egg-stravaganza!

So for the first time in almost 2 years, I've started modeling again. Got really burnt out working on a real turd of a kit, and just put it all down and had no interest in doing any building. Last fall I started attending a newer model club at the local Hobby Town, and in December they were...

    An afternoon with Bob

Great pics! And might actually be in Branson during the week between Christmas & New Years, so might have to stop by if you're in town!

    When Size Matters...

I remember seeing some test pic's of the Valkyrie on Facebook while they were still designing it, and that thing is going to be an absolute monster.

    Back in the saddle again...

Agreed! As I've been working on cleaning up my work bench, I've had the model off to one side and have been seriously thinking about doing exactly that.

1/350 USS Georgia SSGN-729 Ohio Class Submarine.

Man, she's a biggen! I did a 1/350 Los Angeles class a couple years ago, and thought it was a pretty decent size, then you say this one is 19". Had to pull up a comparison of the Ohio vs the Los Angeles class, and man that Ohio is almost 75% larger than the Los Angeles! Can't wait to see more...

    Back in the saddle again...

Yea, that's really what I should have done, but I was trying to shove through it in a sort of "I Told You So" kind of thing, b/c it was a kit I didn't want in the first place, but ended up taking for reasons that aren't really pertinent here. So because of that, I kept going when I knew I should...

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Latest Acquisitions As mentioned elsewhere, I've not done any modeling in about 18 months, but still have acquired some new goodies. First batch of goodies is photoetch stuff, mostly for my Tamiya IJN Tone that I decided to go nuts on. All of the sets are from Alliance Model Works. Also got a...

    Back in the saddle again...

Thought I'd drop in and say hello to everyone again. Up till this week, I've not touched a model since July of '15. Was slogging my way through an absolutely horrible kit, trying to polish a turd as it were. It was at this point that all of my modeling mojo went completely out the window, and...

Go big or go home. Academy 1/48 CH-53E

A very nice kit, but definitely a beast when built. I've got one that's been in progress for 8 years, that I decided to go hog wild on the detail.
