How Many Of These Did You Have??

Holy cow, I had that Anzio set! We had a lot of Corgi stuff too: Batmobile, Batboat, Black Beauty, a bunch of the UFO stuff. My favorite of all was the BMW with sidecar. I loved that toy.

How Many Of These Did You Have??

Oh yeah, now we're talkin'. We didn't have a local big track like that, but my cousin did in NJ, so whenever we'd visit, it'd off to that shop. I loved those, big chassis with the vacuformed bodies. We had the Aurora, Tyco and AFX sets over the years, I even remember mailing cereal box tops...

How Many Of These Did You Have??

With two older brothers, we had so many of those between the three of us. A stand out was airblaster. A carefully placed ping pong ball and this thing was deadly. But I think the highest chance of injury was getting the webbing between your thumb and forfinger jammed by the lever while priming...

Wow, that looks nice. Jsut don't put the Wehrmacht decals on the crates and I think you'll be fine. They had wood back then, right?

Logistics, trucks & Jeeps Completed January 19, 2021

I love the work and the story as well. And yes Bob, I find myself with more time, but far less motivation. I've kind of retreated into listen to music and reading, which I haven't done in a while. Hopefully it'll spark some building, been reading about the 8th AF, so I bought a 17 for dio...

    50 cal question.

I think the barrels are removed too, but it doesn't jibe with the way I understand how they were equipped. They didn't swap out barrels like the German did with MG42s, right? I thought the gunners grabbed the guns from the armorer pre flight, put 'em in and off they went. If you look at these...

    50 cal question.

As I gather ref pics for the '17 dio, I keep coming across photos with 50s that look like the barrel is not in the cooling jacket. Any ideas?

    WOW!!!!! Heavy Metal Junker

Sure. If I had an IV drip of coffee and all meals brought to me, set up a cot and a toilet next to the bench and didn't leave for a year, maybe I'd get the wing done. I did get a great tip from the video, filing over a hole to keep the edge tight.

    Der Rote Kampfflieger

Theres a private Aerodrome about 30 minutes from me that runs parallel to the NYS Thruway. It's a bunch of makeshift hangars that look like barns that the guys put up themselves, 10 or so. All the planes are made by the owners. One guy was making an Eindecker from the ground up and it was...

    Opinions on grass.

I held a 1/35 and 1/48 figure to it and it'd be okay height-wise, but a bit thick, blade-wise. I'm working on a work around: I glued so to clear styrene sheet. Then I can thin it out, make it splotchy and have bare spots, then let the watery dirt color show through from beneath. So the grass...
