    Ivan and the Tiger

Both fuselage are together. The P-40 needs a lot more work than the Yak, but that was to be expected. With the flaps on the P-40 lowered, I had to add a piece of plastic in order to not see the underside of the cockpit. Gary S.

The Yaks cockpit , except for the instrument panel is assembled and painted. Lots of detail with not a lot of detail painting instructions given. It went together ok. The P'40's cockpit is basically done. Added 50 cal. gun butts. Both need a wash and dry brushing. Gary S.

When building these old kits, "Monogram/Revell" translates into break out the Bondi. Manages to drill out the exhaust ok. There was a section of spruce that had a flat spot that made a perfect prop shaft retainer. Next I made wheel wells that is not quite right that I started before my rt. eye...

The kit instrument panel is for a P-40E, not a P-40B/C. I built this same kit 10 or so years ago, but had the correct photo etch panel. This AM I filed off the face of the panel and cut out where the back of the 50 cal. guns show. There are left over decals from the Yak kit I could use with some...

    Ivan and the Tiger

For my next project I'm going to build in 1/48th scale, AM's Yal-1b and Revell's P-40B Flying Tiger. From my research, the P-40's were painted using Dupont colors. The underside was Dupont "sky", which is a light gray with a little green. Hope so anyway. Gary S.

Just to see if I could

A few months ago, my wife bought a new mouse pad, which we both liked very much. So I wanted to see if I could reproduce it on to a 16 X 20 inch canvas using acrylic craft paints. I'm not an artist, just a painter. My wife, loves it. Gary S.

    Mighty Mo, BB-63 Finished

Any museum would be proud to display your model. Super job!! I just ordered Revell's 1/720 scale U.S.S. Enterprise as a Christmas present for myself and plan to build it OOB. Haven't built an aircraft carrier since I was 11 or 12. Gary S.
