I just ordered Tamiya's 1/48th scale Korean War F_51D from Amazon. I have read that post war F-51's were painted all over silver. Is this true? Gary S.

Also, the underside ones were lt. blue also. I think like you that fading the darker color is the way to go and I'm going to use white oils for that. Gary S.

Thanks, I brush on a coat of Future just before placing the decal. In most cases it eliminates shivering. Gary S.

Decals are done for both models. The kit wing decals for the P-40 were too light of a blue so they were removed. I had a darker set of blue one left over from a previous P-40 build about ten years ago. There is no placement instructions for the stencil decals. I had to use a a 1/32nd scale P-40...

It might take me a few days to get the sand in the mail. I'm also including some dirt from Bastone and some pebbles from Stoumont, Belgium. I used some of the dirt for my Sherman base and some of the dirt and pebbles to make a wall for my Stug III. They are both 1/48th scale Bandai kits. Gary S.
