Modelers Alliance website is packing up and moving to a new home.
Update: We have moved
Starting this weekend we will be migrating our files over to our new server. What does this mean to you? It means we are moving to a new host who, hopefully, will be more stable than our current server. I'm sure you all have noticed, at least once a month, the site would be completely shut down and inaccessible. We have tried to work with the current host to fix these problems but this has failed. Test on the new site have been successful and we are encourage in the performance we have seen.
The site will be shut down late this evening, or early morning depending on where you are. The Gallery will be shut down prior to that so we know we get all the current files you have uploaded and any files that maybe currently uploading. As long as you still have access to the site you are free to post. We will attempt to time the shutdown so no one is cut off in the process of posting. Everything will be moved seamlessly, the new host already has a version of our website running and it is as if you stepped back in time a couple of days from where we made that first backup.
What you will see is a message that the site is shut down for maintenance and will be back online shortly. As DNS settings move across the world you may find the site up and running, this will mean you have hit our new host. Once the new DNS settings are propagated over the internet the migration will be complete and it's business as normal. DNS propagation generally takes 1-2 days. More often it is shorter.
What is the schedule?approximately 10Pm Eastern Standard time US the site will be shut down and full backup will start. When you check your www.modelersalliance.com link and find the site backup and running, that means the migration is complete.
