Revell Aerospatiale Alouette II 1/32

When i finished work and the company i worked for closed i had one of those laser colour samplers which i bought when i was developing a colour proofer machine for printing inks....like an idiot i left it behind thinking i would never need that again :)

I wonder if the brick layer that built this in my town

could help me with this

If they put a tab on just one part i would at least have a starting point.
AND.......i better mask this up first 🤯 🤣 :ph:

This sort of vague assembly doesn't seem very Revell Ag-ish. It is their kit. Bloody awful, that.

Spoke to soon Paul ;-)

On reflection i did this wrong. now i am trying to get the doors to fit in their holes..
What i should do is remove the back or the cockpit, fit the doors then re fit the back to fit the doors...so thats what i did.

Back of the cockpit removed and doors taped in place above

Back now refitted as above and doors that obviously fit in the gap

Painted the door frames then put them back and they hold themselves as they are now a good fit then balanced the roof or "lid" in place.

That looks better. positioning of the hinges is hyper criticle if the doors are going to open and shut, as they will be glued to the clear panels there will eb no second chance and i wont really know if i have it right till the glue is dry and i can try them....is this game supposed to be stressful :rotf

oh and i had to fill a gap at the front because the glass is taller than the centre section.

Just a quick round up
This is one of those kits that if you were building for a living/job............ you would go bankrupt :)

As i have said it has no location points and i think just about every part has been glued and unglued so far as you find several steps down the line they are in the wrong place. Nearly ever part of the frame needs to be repaired, it looks complete on the sprue but when you remove them they just fall apart. Some parts i just cant even fathom how they fit or where they should fit from the poor instructions.
Its a shame as the basics are quite good re: detail and clean mouldings but really the damage problems just come down to the totally inadequate end opening soft skinned box.

Yea i think the doors will work and i will update the engine as son as i have added some detail, its just the std bits so far with some PE mesh.
