All done. Probably should have replaced the wipers with some more in-scale PE items but I can live with it for now. Will get it on a base one day:) Los

It really does make the details pop on a monochrome finish

Painted sub-assembly construction Before closing the cab up, the floor was lightly weathered with various enamel dust colours and the tread plate dry brushed with some dark oils to simulate some light wear. The steering wheel was then added before both sub-assemblies were finally fixed...

Tis the only way I have been able to get good access to paint both the cab interior and chassis and still maintain a decent fit of all the components when it finally all comes together. Trust me, my earlier attempts were pretty dodgy!

Once the initial pin wash had fully dried all the assemblies were given an airbrushed coat of matt varnish After letting the varnish coat cure for another 24hrs, additional light applications of enamel dust and dirt effects were added to areas where they woulld naturally accumulate. Further...

Dodged that bullet with this one :p: The engine won't be on display but as you can still see the sump, plus the exhaust needs fixing to someplace in the bay, I figured I would just add the main engine components

Decals and pin washes The kit provides just licence plates and instrument dials. Some strategical airbrushed VMS satin varnish was laid down before and after to seal them. Front licence plates sealed and an initial pin wash with wash brown 502 toned oil paints added. The remaining...

Time to break out the airbrush My vision for the paint job was to create an almost factory fresh finish, receiving only a light application of weathering over it. For this project I decided to try out my new acquisition of MRP lacquers. I’ve only heard good things about them and the fact there...

Repetitive stuff sucks the fun out for me so I agree, break the monotony up as best you can. Did you check out Mr Schoot's 1/16 251 build on that missing-Lynx link I sent to you?

Wheels, tracks and tilt cover All the track wheels have been cleaned up and the track runs completed. The wheel design and detail is accurate for a late war manufatured vehicle. As for the sprockets, I have since found that ET Model do now offer a 3D printed sprocket and track specific set...

Building the cargo body: Steps 24 to 28 Whilst still working on completing the tracks runs, I started inspecting the cargo body parts and remembered how exaggerated the woodgrain detail is. The much larger issue is that this kit does not include the wooden equipment rack! Instead the kit...

Thanks man. Yeah, they are not a patch on the Dragon versions of this vehicle in terms of moulding tech, design and engineering. I've only built a handful of Trumpy kits and the quaility has been hit and miss!

Carrying on where we left off its time to look at the running gear. I’m not a big fan of repetitive work so I like to spread the task of wheel and track clean up over a few bench sessions, so this work continues at a glacial pace. Meanwhile, let us look at the kit’s dodgy sprockets! As already...
