    New Tool from Dspiae

My skills ?..lol I just unwrapped the new MFH car that arrived today , looked it over carefully, put it back in its box and wrapped it up again, its now in the back of the cupboard :) I know when i am beaten before i start🤣 First problem i can see is the metal suspension, especially the...

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

I decided that having built a coup0le of MFH motorcycles I would like to try one of their cars.. Nothing MFH is cheap however my last restoration of a Brough Superior motorcycle has left me with a brand new in its box model of the Brough, surplus so my plan is to ebay it and get 90% of the cost...

    New Tool from Dspiae

The tool i would like is a contraption for holding motorcycle models. especially 1/9 scale. It would really need to clamp the tyres i think as the variation in the rest of bikes would make anything universal a compromise. They do make a 1/12 clamp but its awkward and designed for light weight...

    New Tool from Dspiae

From the looks of it. its not going to automatically self centre. It will do on the horizontal axis bit you will have to measure the dia of your rod and manually set the height /vertical axis. TBH i dont like the idea of using aluminium for a mitre bock which will be softer than the steel saw

    New Tool from Dspiae

Obviously $48 is not the same a s $1000 but having spent a lifetime with an entire fully equipped machine shop at my disposal it can be frustrating not having that anymore but truth is the machine is only the start..then you need the tools like a car needs gas :-) You can buy a cheap milling...

    New Tool from Dspiae

I look at these sorts of things and they seem great however i tend to ask myself, what would i have used it for in my last 3 builds ? thats usually enough for me to wait :) I did this with a micro lathe, really wanted one with all the options it would give me but in truth i dont need one :)...

    The MFH Rescue Centre

Wheels, we have wheels :-) and the stand being on the centre line is not under to much stress A seat footrests and levers and about 3ft of wiring and i do believe this will have been a successful save/restoration. Only part missing was a small seat mount. Unfortunately by the time i had...

    The MFH Rescue Centre

No problem, radio operators were trained to climb out on the wing with a can of gas and refuel , they would do the same to put fires out as well :-) No it just makes me smile that our Lancaster, 5 spitfires and 2 hurricanes of the battle of Britain Memorial flight are still commissioned and...

    The MFH Rescue Centre

its odd top see the press over here talk about ...GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator, or MOP, which weighs around 13.5 tonnes. Our Lancaster's were dropping 10.ton grand slams 80 years ago. Unfortunately out Lancaster is having a service at the moment so you guys are on your own :) We do still...

    The MFH Rescue Centre

Yes you are right , its basically a mix of lead and tin. better known as solder with a low enough melting point to not damage silicon moulds.

    The MFH Rescue Centre

Its a problem with a lot of scale builds. You see it with the italeri cars. 0nce you reduce a small part in real life by 90% its going to reach a point where its to weak to even support itself. I remember the wing vertical struts on the WnW Bristol fighter were really on their limit Because the...
