    I think after aa few sorties the gloss would have retreated pretty quickly on a material base. Even the polished WW2 fighters and bombers had to be regularly maintained to keep gleaming and thats metal! Sun, wind and rain, especially winds at high speed in high altitude sunlight would have had a...
