Panzer III Ausf J. Das Werks, 1/16 scale.

Andy's has a German commander figure for tank in 1/16th put out by Das Werk.

Thanks Paul! I like his pose. Not sure if he'd appear to be sitting right with the P III having the cupola. The price is right, though.

As I have two tanks I ordered two of them as well as two each of two other German figures. Also ordered some Winterketten tracks for my stug. Thought about getting a second stug kit with the Winterketten tracks, but decided against. Hopefully they should be decent figures and the double ups should give me enough parts to possibly re-pose them.

If they show up soon let me know how they look.

Adding details. Using Ian's pics of a rear missing mud guard I made the under plate.
Also modified the two center tow cable hold downs to be open, not locked in place since my cables will not be stored in them.

I'm leaning towards depicting a tank from the 5th SS Panzer Wiking Division in Russia, 1943. The decal set with the kit does have the markings for tank #115, however the 5th Wiking insignia in the set is represented by blank black circles, of course. In the second pic there is a long gun on the P III.

Your build is coming along nicely Tim! As to the figures they are due in Monday according to UPS. As I set them to be delivered to work, that is when we will reopen after the New Years break.
I have been doing super detailing on my 251 engine. Have found so many things that are just wrong on it and as I plan of having the hatches open it will be quite visible. My pile of reference photos of various Maybach engines (for the 251) is quite helpful. Added a 3 arm linkage to the carburetor that I made out of brass sheet and bent it up. Have some more parts to make for that yet and add to it. It is really starting to look good though it looks more like a newly built or restored engine than one that has been run a bunch. For the most part that will be solved by spraying it down with a lot of dirt and dust with a bit of wash.

There's so much that can be added. And at this scale on the P III I see many things that should be done. I'm realizing that I could get away with a Commander that is not necessarily in the cupola.
