The Snowbirds Canada's Demo team have been doing a fly over across Canada to help combat the Depressing Corona virus lock down and also in solidarity with Nova Scotia who had a madman go on a killing spree followed by one of our Cyclone Helicopters crashing in the Ionian Sea while on Ops. They were in BC today and one just crashed in Kamloops. While the pilot ejected he ended up on a roof of a home and looks to be in bad shape. No word yet if anyone else was hurt as the aircraft landed in some houses. Cant win for losing and especially the RCAF

There is smoke rising from the crash site as emergency vehicles descend on the area. There are reports the plane hit a house and that the pilot managed to eject before the jet crashed

That's horrible news James. They were supposed to fly over my area today but news this morning was they cancelled because of low cloud cover. Hope everyone is okay!!!

Still no word on the pilot but there was a pic of his chute on a roof and 2 responders (pilot was hidden). Absolutely nothing on the tech. They always fly when doing a transit. Hope they are okay but all anyone is saying is the pilot.

It looks like it but have to wait to hear. Pilot taken to hospital but no word on passenger yet.

Capt. Jennifer Casey, 431 Sqn Public Affairs Officer, has been confirmed as the fatality. She had been the CF188 Demo Team PAO in 2018. The pilot was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. His name has not been released.

The Tutor seat/parachute combo is not known for great low speed/low altitude performance. There has been a plan to replace the parachute that will likely get moved to the front burner now.

Wow, sad day. Another blow for Nova Scotia. Captain Casey was from Halifax.

The pilot is Capt. Richard MacDougall from the Moncton, NB area. He is one of two Team Coordinators. He had 6 years on the CC130 and the last 2 years as an instructor on the CT156 Harvard II before joining the Snowbirds last August.
