OK so I have been thinking about this periodically, and I cannot seem to remember the movie...HELP!

I remember watching this old B&W movieseveral times as a kid. It was about a soldier (British, I think it was) that held an entire German warship at anchor, armed only with his trusty Lee-Enfield. Basically, the crew had to coum out on the deck to raise 'wich-ip' the anchor, and when they would do so he would shoot them, then run back into a series of caves as they swung thier guns 'round to shoot him. Does anyone remember this movie?

PS - If you DO know what it is, please not only tell me (of course) but can you add if this was fiction or not?

Sailor Of The King, released in 1953 with the setting updated to WW2. There was an earlier version done in 1935, Brown On Resolution (UK) and Born For Glory (US). Both were based on the 1929 novel by C.S. Forester, Brown On Resolution.

Cheers,
Rich
