These Go To Eleven

Since I have to work tomorrow, I thought I'd share the kit photo. This is one of the first model car kits I built back in grade school, one of my friends was scared of the devil decal in it.

Back to my roots, going to build both cars from this kit, with a few extra spicy twists. Stay tuned if you can hang on.

I think that's the kit I was thinking about that could be mod into one of those tanker cars. Still not getting the 11 but I got a doctors excuse.

If you got it before I built it, what would be the point? B)

These Go To Eleven

We seem to have blown the breaker in the souvenir shop (name that tune). This venerable old kit has some heinous seam lines and those are proving a challenge to the one eyed man. I procured some refill sanding belts for my ol' Flexifile at Hayes Hobby House in Fayetteville and those really helped out on all the curved surfaces of the frame. The frame has sat unassembled until today, I got up the nerve to try out my recently repaired eye. Depth perception is still an issue, but I'm getting more of a stereo effect from the left eye, so getting the frame straight worked out.

There are still the matter of the ill fitting joints, but I'll let things dry out overnight and then hit them with some putty and more sanding. :S

More mayhem to come...
