Panhard 178 AMD-35 Command Car

Yeah I agree with Pup about that Center Fold Tab. Sometimes I've mistaken it for an indicator on the model itself!

Your drybrushing technique is sensational! What an amazing finish on this hull right now.

Thanks, Guys.

I want to keep the weathering pretty subtle as this model will be depicting a vehicle that has pretty much stuck to the roads.

Here it is with the tree removed and some dirt and mud splatter applied.

Now to paint the tools. I have the wheels and tires ready to weather and attach. I also have the turret build and the glue drying so I can get that primed and painted. It is coming along...

Hey Moon Puppy, I made a temporary change to my backdrop that doesn't have that annoying marking on it. :)

Thanks for looking.
Cheers,
James

As long as your postin' brother....:popcorn

And posting I will do... :)

Got more progress to share...

I got the wheels on and lightly weathered. They are straight, but some of the photos make them look off.

I also got to work on the turret. I primed it with flat black, then sprayed it with Tamiya TS-5 Olive Drab. Once dry, I drybrushed with three different colors to get to this point. I just sprayed Dullcote on it and will put on the final decals tomorrow.

What a sweet ride! Stunning work! I need one of those vehicles for these LA freeways! :bang head :D

And the new background truly enhances these pics!

Thanks, Guys.

Yeah, Duke. This would be nice on the freeway. :)

Got up this morning and after feeding the animals (cats, dog, and chickens) I started working on this model again to try to get it done. First I applied the decals to the turret and sealed them with dullcote...

I think the decals add some color and interest to the turret and the model overall.

And then I looked through my bases and thought I might put it on this one when ready...

Uh oh! It is missing the turret! Now that is better...

I'm not quite sure if I want to include some ground work or just go with the model sitting on the base. If I don't do the ground work, then I will use this base. I think the blue color of the base makes the model pop out at you.

James

Panhard 178 AMD-35 COMPLETED

I am calling this done!

After putting the turret on the vehicle, I painted the main gun black and then rubbed a pencil on it. I painted some black around the muzzle to look like powder residue. I then started chipping the paint by using a brush to put some nicks here and there and make the armored car look used. I think this turned out fairly well for a quick build. The only thing I might do it darken the main gun, but in real life it doesn't look quite as bright as in these pictures, so I may not. I'll just have to see.

Next thing will be to put it on a base once I decide if I want to do ground work or not.

That was a pretty fun and quick build that allowed me to try various techniques and build up my skill level. One more armor model under my belt and many more to go...

Thanks for looking.

Thanks. It did go pretty fast and ended up turning out pretty decent so it has me motivated to do more quick projects to balance out some of my more complicated ones.

I know how that is. I'd been doing so many complicated builds over the past few years. I decided it was time to finish off some small, easy projects and just get them done. Seeing this and watching how fast it went together, just keeps me fired up to continue on mine.
