CTA Entry Phil Spirit of St Louis

Great build Phil :) how did you do that prop blur ? in the pics... I just need to know how to do that :)

Re: CTA Entry Phil Spirit of St Louis - Completed

Well here she is all done.

I used Tamiya A/S 12 rattlecan for the silver and Tamiya T/S 17 for the cowling, prop and spinner straight onto the plastic - no primer used, finished with Mr Hobby semi gloss top coat.

Hope you all enjoy my take on this famous aircraft.

:bang head I just worked out on this site - right click on pic and click view...... :blink

Great finish Phil, really nice! :pilot

Thanks all !!

Paddy, a good free spinning prop is first up, on my camera I can choose Aperture priority, I set to F29 for max depth of field and I can set ''rear sync flash - this makes the flash fire at the end of the exposure, the camera sets the speed, in this case it was 1/4th of a sec

this same settings but at 1/15th

camera was firmly held on the ground for these.

Cheers!

Cheers Phil, must give that a try, quick reaction between the spin and the shutter !! looks like a job for my cable release. I have never altered the flash shutter speed, i think its set to 1/60 as std
thanks for the tip,I will enjoy playing about with this (y)

Paddy forgot to mention the first pic the wind kindly blew the prop for me as well! was timed just right.

I also set white balance to shade outside even in sunlight for my model pics.

Don't be afraid to experiment with settings.

Cheers!
