    They are also found in Luftwaffe blue. As a side note you used to be able to find originals of these (and gas masks) in the Fetish shops in London, during the mid 80s. (Well thats my excuse for being in those shops anyway!)

    Those new photos are just wonderful, nice detail and not washed out like the original photo. It is a ribbon eagle for the Army long service award.

    Hi James, I take it your talking about the book by Jack Pia (1971). If you look very closely at the eagle above the wings are the wrong shape and have a different design to the one in the book. See below for Army style cap eagles.

    Although the photo caption does say it is a fuel convoy, it is water. It should also be noted that the original caption is in Polish and then translated into English, and that the subject matter is from North Africa.
