The newest version of the ALQ-167 has a name chosen to strike fear in the hearts of adversaries, Angry Kitten.
Development began in 2013 with Georgia Tech Research tasked to develop a system to simulate enemy radars for training and testing that has since morphed into a tactical EW countermeasures system. It has multiple radar frequency receivers and emitters and using "cognative technology", analyzes and determines the best response to jam or spoof the threat without input from the pilot or EWO. The pod is currently in use with Red Forces in training exercises, tested on MQ-9's, F-16's and A-10's for offensive operations and has been recommended for use in combat. If it has been used in combat, they would have to kill us all if thet told us.
Cheers,
