After I had my triple bypass surgery. I started building models again after about a 20-year hiatus. I started at Swanny's models where I got acquainted with a lot of you. Yesterday, I learned from SA Dave that one of our fellow modelers from that era had passed away about three years ago. Tim Gillis, AKA Nsmekanik was diagnosed with a brain tumor about 51/2 years ago. He came down to Oklahoma to visit me about 8 years ago from Alberta, and we also kept in touch through SKYPE. He became a good friend and when he told me of the cancer diagnosis I was floored. Because of his privacy and him asking me not to let M.A. know I chose to only inform Bob. He stopped communications about 9 months later and I had assumed that he probably passed around then. I tried to get in touch with Nadia, his wife through SKYPE but there was never any answer in return.

Tim really liked building 72 scale soft skinned vehicles and 72 scale planes of just about any flavor. Anyway, put his user name in and check out some of his builds.

You will be sorely missed. :Drinks:

Thanks for letting us know Paul.
I get it that some folks want their privacy and don't want to be pestered.
However, at one time I had attended a local church and the singles group there for a couple of years. Got down in the dumps and quit attending. No one ever reached out to see if I was even still around. I never went back.

Sometimes at least one person from the group should reach out and at least say "Hi!" Like with SADave, I suspect he was rather surprised. We have lost so many in recent years and it kind of hurts to see them gone.
For me this is about the only group that I keep in touch with. I have my daughter and a couple of local folks I keep in touch with as well as those I work with, but It is nice to know that there are folks that are good friends out there "someplace".
