Went with Luke's Cub scout pack down to Albany to see the whirlybirds...

First one to look at was the governor's bird-- the kids thought it was pretty cushy-- glad to see our tax dollars at work...I believe this is a Bell 430?

Next up was the Huey--kids liked this one...

I liked this one-- often used as an observation plane and by the DEC to track animals and restock lakes and ponds...
a Partenavia twin-engine plane-

And lastly an air boat-- thought it was cool...

Our guide was one of the pilots...I found it interesting that he actually isn't a trooper...but just a licensed pilot...he mentioned flying the Hueys in Vietnam and has been flying for over 40 years....pretty cool trip overall...

Thanks for sharing Mike.

Interesting to note the lack of multicolored wires and lines in the engine compartments. :hmmm
