My first 3 for 2011 a trio of Lancaster's

My Paternal Grandfather was aircrew on Lanc's in WW2, and Post-War.

So the Lancaster holds a special place in my heart.

First up an RAAF Lancaster B. Mk I, this was to be used as the pattern aircraft for producing the Lancaster in Australia. But production was switched to the Lincoln instead:

And the second Lanc wears the markings of 419 (Moose) Sqdn RCAF:

The third of the trio wears the markings of 625 Sqdn, this Lanc was a veteran of 100 op's, and also took part in Operation "Manna", which was the dropping of food parcels to the people of Holland. And Operation "Exodus", which was the operation to repatriate POW's.

Very cool. Love the Lanc. Had a 419 Lanc flying around the house during the airshow a couple of years back. Sounds awesome.
