Just finished this one up last week. This was built almost entirely out of the box with the exception of the exhaust pipes that I screwed up drilling out and had to scratch new ones and the aerials. The kit shows it's age and requires some work but I think it builds up very nicely in the end.
All of this interior detail presented absolutely zero fit problems which shocked the heck out of me.
Fit of the major components however was not so good. This was the longest part of the build.
I chose to paint the invasion stripes instead of using the huge kit supplied decals. I think that would have just turned into a mess. The rest of the decals laid down just fine.
The kit engines look ok but not great under a coat of paint and a wash.
I was worried about the strength of the landing gear due to the sheer size of the model but it turns out to be a strong assembly when glued together and presented no fiddly problems.
I'm still not happy with the fit of the windscreen but I will live with it.
It sure does build up into a nice looking plane though and is impressive in it's size. Wingspan is just over 25 inches.
