On a recent trip to Barnes and Noble, I came across a copy of Military Uniforms Visual Encyclopedia by Chris McNab.

It is a compilation of military uniforms from the 18th century to present, with fine color illustrations of more than 650 uniforms from many countries. McNab has included descriptions and details of the uniforms, making this a valuable resource for military modelers.

World War II is the bulk of the book's 448 pages and shows many unusual uniforms and weapons. The author credits several sources for the photos and Art-Tech for all the other images.

This publication was on the bargain table, priced a very reasonable $9.98 USD.
 
Thanks for the tip...just getting into figure painting so this is an awesome find and my B&N had a whole stack...picked up the new Airfix mag as well which came with a free calendar of their awesome cover art...all for $15 with my teacher discount during teacher appreciation week ;)
